Sor Juana Festival at Chicago's Museum of Mexican Art
September marks the beginning of the National Museum of Mexican Art’s annual Sor Juana Festival. Now in its 20th year, the festival, primarily located at the Chicago museum, is dedicated to Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz (1651-1695), poet, philosopher, and the first feminist in the Americas! The festival takes pride in emphasizing women in the arts, with readings, performances, and workshops scheduled into mid-November. To check out this year’s planned events, visit the museum’s website.
